I love asking people what they’ve nicknamed their mane.
ONE. It’s funny that so many people even bother to name their hair.
TWO. The names people come up with are HILARIOUS sometimes.
I’m indecisive, but a couple weeks ago I finally came up with a name. You guys ready?
Glory.
Now, wait. It feels a little corny announcing my mane’s name right after Jay-Z released the song entitled “Glory” in dedication to his new born daughter, Blue Ivy. But I swear it’s unrelated!
Let me explain.
Growing up I always had a ton of hair on my head and my mom’s friends would always comment on it (not sure if it was out of happiness for me or pity for my mama for having to deal with it). One of Mom’s closest friends, who I called Aunty Barbara, used to always look at me and say “Look at all that glory!!!!!”
And so, I decided that was the perfect name for my mane.
Glory.
