I’ve been working out lately. A lot.
I’m always posting pics on Instagram (@jaygray44) of myself in the gym or after a run so you know it’s real (haha…I had to say it!).
But anyway…a few people have been tweeting me asking how I style my hair so that it doesn’t get ruined for a workout. Honestly, I don’t do much and I can’t promise my hair doesn’t get “ruined” either.
My go-to options are a super-high-in-my-face ponytail or a topknot bun. Sometimes I’ll twist my hair up toward the top of my hair and bobby pin or butterfly clip it there.
I’m sorry to disappoint but I have kinda just accepted my fate. Especially if it’s during one of my sweatier sessions, all I have to work with is a ponytail holder and a prayer. And maybe a scarf if I remembered to pack one.
This was how I stacked my twist-out on top of my head for today’s workout:
And this is how lucky I got:
Doesn’t always work out that way, unfortunately.
Last night my hair was pinned up around my head and secured with a scarf so I wouldn’t destroy the twist out I planned on rocking today.
(Ignore my face. That’s my I-survived-the-insanity-workout look.)
Overall, I know it may sound easier than it really is, but I try not to sacrifice my health for my hair. I’m also super low maintenance and don’t mind looking like a rabid muskrat on the way home, so maybe I’m the wrong one to listen to lol
But seriously, ladies. I’m sure you can work it out somehow…if you REALLY tried you could. It may result in a little bit more work for you but that hot bod you’re working toward (plus increasing your time here on earth) is totally worth it.
