I have an EXTREMELY dry scalp.
Sometimes I experience flaking and some inflammation from my scalp being irritated. It can be very frustrating sometimes, but I’ve found some ways to ease my troubles. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had a lot of build-up and flaking around my hairline (ugh!) so I have been experimenting with new products whenever I get the chance to try and find some relief.
My latest find? Jane Carter’s Scalp Nourishing Serum.
Ingredients: Pure essential oils ( grapefruit, cedarwood, rosemary, ylang ylang, palmarosa, nettle), Vitamins A, D & E, Pure botanicals
Directions: Part hair and apply a small amount directly to the scalp and massage. Use 3-4x per week to promote healthy scalp. Can be applied to hairline to stimulate hair growth.
Results? I followed the directions faithfully for a couple of weeks and the inflammation and flaking definitely diminished. Very happy with that. Over the course of a month, my hairline even filled out a little more. (I’ve been noticing a thinner hairline because of a recent flare up so I am giving this another spin soon. I’m planning on seeing a dermatologist soon.) The serum has the consistency of a light oil and there was no greasy feeling after application. I also liked the light citrus smell, which I discovered with more research into which essential oils were actually used was probably from the grapefruit.
+Soothing to the scalp
+Worked to treat dry scalp and inflammation.
+Easy, clean application
+Price. $14 for 1-oz doesn’t get you too far.
+Small packaging so better for spot treatments than use on entire scalp.
Want to try it for yourself? I snagged my Scalp Nourishing Serum from Target, but you can also purchase it from the Jane Carter website. Enjoy!
