Yesterday I was having a really overwhelming day at work when…

I just knew it had to be my curlBOX–I had been seeing others tweet about receiving theirs and was grilling the front door waiting for the delivery guy. I needed a little pick-me-up so I decided to peek inside my package instead of waiting until I got home to open it. Sure enough…

I posted a few sneak peek pics of the curlBOX on instagram (@jaygray4) & on Twitter (@HGKWW) and as promised, here is my own curlBOX revealing!

Here are some pics of what was inside…ready?

15% off EXTENZZ or any Curly Hair Solutions products & accessories (left) & 15% off ANY item at BeHuetiful.com (right)

Hair Rules full-sized Kinky Curly Cream (8 oz) & sample of Quench Ultra Rich Conditioner (0.5 oz)

Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner (1 oz) & Curly Pudding (0.5 oz) Also includes a guide to Nothing But products.

2 oz samples of EXTENZZ, Groove Therapy Detoxifying Hair Cleanser & Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In Conditioner

My first impression: From the beginning, you notice the attention to detail. I really liked the look of curlBox before even getting to the contents. It has a nice, sleek and clean appearance–very professional, which is important for a newly launched business. I appreciated the introduction card that included a message from the founder, Myleik. Her passion for her work  is very clear.

As for the actual contents of the box, I was pleased. The curlBOX costs $20 a month (or $220 for a year where you receive one month for free) and promises to include 5-7 quality hair product samples. The premiere box included seven products that were a total of 16 ounces and two 15% off discount cards. Not bad. I do know that the full sized 8 oz bottle of Hair Rules is worth over $20 alone so that is definitely a steal! Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia is $16 for 200 mL or about 6.7 ounces. That two ounce bottle is worth about $5! Also, keep in mind that you are not paying additional for shipping.

Now I will admit that I am a less than moderate product junky so I don’t know if I would ever commit to a year. Because you don’t know what you will be getting until it arrives, it’s not like I can totally rely on the curlBOX for my hair needs. So for me, the yearly price of $220 would be in addition to the money I already have to spend on staple products and that is a little bit much for me. However, if you’re a product junky, this would be a nice monthly fix for you. It is also nice that you can stop your subscription and then sign back up as you wish.  Also, if you just want an inexpensive way to explore new products, this is a nice alternative to walking the aisles and getting overwhelmed by all of the choices.  curlBOX handpicks products that already have a reputation for being great for natural hair!

This was a great debut for curlBOX, so congratulations to Myleik!
