My little sister loves to send me random pics and jokes via text message. The other day she sent me this picture of her and a friend:

My sister Lauren has been wearing her hair straight every day for years, so many people don’t realize that she does not have a relaxer. Her hair has always been long and she has gotten a relaxer before but it was years ago so she’s all natural again. She said she felt inspired by seeing me always wear my hair curly and especially since I launched my blog this year.
Since Lauren was a faithful hair straightener, her hair has been “trained” straight…which means the constant heat application damaged her hair to where it no longer returns to its natural curl. Recently she decided to lay off of the heat for a while and give her hair time to grow out so that she can see her natural curl pattern. She is determined to give this natural thing a real try and I’m all for it! Her and some of her college friends love to call me at all hours of the day (and I mean ALL HOURS) asking hair questions and I think it’s too cute. I’m excited to see how Lauren’s journey to healthy natural hair goes!
