I know you can judge the shine and definition for yourself from the pics, but I just want to say that my hair is super soft right now. My hair has great hold without the crunchiness some products can give you. I’m impressed, Dark and Lovely. I am impressed.
What did I do to prep my hair? I washed and deep conditioned my hair, applied my leave-in conditioner and sealed with coconut oil before I got to the styling part. I let my hair air dry for about three hours so my hair wouldn’t be soaking wet when I applied the products. This always helps shorten my drying time.
My hair was in about eight big twists while it was air-drying. I would take a big twist, split it into two (making a total of 16 twists) and slather each smaller twist with a couple fingertips worth of the Coil Moisturizing Souffle from roots to end as directed. Then I sprayed a couple pumps of the Sheen Sealing Nectar, smoothing it on to the section as I twisted the hair. It didn’t take me too long to do and I was off to bed.
I let my hair set all day today because of course it was not dry when I woke up. I sprayed a little bit more of the Sheen Sealing Nectar on my fingertips to reduce frizz while I took down all of the twists. I separated each section a couple times until I realized I should stop since I’m going to bed soon and should leave some of the hair unseparated for when I wake up in the morning. I love the results and once again, I’m pretty impressed.
The only thing I would probably change about my process is using less of the Sheen spray on my hair. A lot isn’t necessary to get the shine, it seems and I had oils all over my hands after I took down my twists. It smells awesome, though. So does the Souffle, but I really like the Sheen Sealing Nectar. I have a feeling that it’s about to be the star of the show when I’m reviewing the rest of the line.
The Dark & Lovely Au Naturale Curl Defining Creme Glaze! Give me a couple days to enjoy this twist-out and then that review will be on the way too.
